UREC Yangon Thaketa Gas-Fired Combined Cycle Power Plant successfully achieved reverse power transmission at 12:50PM on October 9, 2017. After obtained the operation license from Myanmar Power Grid Company, the site operators strictly followed the operation procedures of reverse power transmission to inspect, record, operate , finally start GIS switching station and achieve circuit and transformer impact test. So far, all the electrical equipment has been working properly while the instrument and signal indication has been keeping accurate.

In order to ensure the successful completion of reverse power transmission, the Myanmar project company had planned in advance and completed numerous coordination work in time while the relevant staff of each participating unit had been stuck to the job even for the holidays. At last, this major milestone node goal was triumphantly achieved.

The successful implementation of reverse power transmission has officially marked the Thaketa project's getting into the stage of trial operation. It has also laid a solid foundation for the project to attain single-cycle power generation by the end of this year.
